BUKU HARIAN ISTERI
Minggu Malam - Dia bertingkah aneh. Sebelumnya kami berjanji bertemu di Cafe. Aku shopping seharian dg teman-teman, sehingga mungkin dia kesal karena aku agak telat sampai di Cafe, tapi dia tak berkomentar.

Ngobrolnya nggak nyambung, jadi aku usul kita pergi ketempat yang agak sepi supaya ngobrolnya lebih enak, dia setuju tapi tetap diam dan berjarak. Aku tanyakan apa yang salah - dia jawab, "Tak ada". Aku tanyakan apakah kesalahan ku yang membuatnya kesal. Dia bilang hal ini tak ada kaitannya dengan ku dan minta aku nggak usah khawatir.

Dalam perjalanan pulang, ku bilang aku mencintainya, dia cuma tersenyum tipis dan tetap menyetir. Aku tak bisa menjelaskan perangainya sore itu. Aku tak habis pikir kenapa dia tak menjawab, "aku cinta kamu juga". Sesampainya dirumah, aku merasa kehilangan dia, dan seolah-olah dia tak menghendaki ku lagi. Dia hanya duduk dan nonton depan TV; dia terlihat jauh dan menghilang.....

Akhirnya aku putuskan untuk tidur. Sekitar 10 menit kemudian, dia menyusul ke kamar. Aku nggak tahan lagi, kuputuskan untuk menghadapinya dan menanyakan soal sebenarnya, tapi dia langsung tertidur. Aku mulai menangis sampai tertidur. Aku tak tahu apa yang harus ku lakukan. Hidupku serasa kiamat...

Rahasia Gorengan Crispy.....

Buat yg hobby makan gorengan...

Temenku punya pengalaman juga, waktu beli pecel lele di daerah Jakarta selatan,

ternyata abangnya tidak menuangkan minyak goreng yang masih diplastik ke

penggorengan. Tapi malah meletakkan minyak goreng yang masih dalam plastik ke

dalam penggorengan panas. Sehingga plastiknya meleleh larut dalam minyak panas,

baru pecel lelenya digoreng dan hasilnya pecel lelenya crispy! (crispy= renyah) serem

yaaaaaaaaaa

Kepada semua Tolong baca ini.

Ini adalah kisah nyata, dan seseorang juga menceritakan hal itu kepada saya, yang

terjadi padanya di Kedah Tunjang. Saya kira itu juga terjadi pada kita juga.

Di PERLIS (area pasar malam, dimana mereka selalu menjual PISANG GORENG pada

sore hari). Pamanku melihat mereka menggoreng PISANG GORENG, mereka

menambahkan sedotan plastik ke dalam minyak goreng panas (sedotan=yang biasanya

kita gunakan untuk minum), sedotan dilelehkan/dicairkan (melted) ke dalam minyak

goreng panas sebelum menggoreng, itulah sebabnya PISANG GORENG, UBI

GORENG, dll selalu tetap crispy=renyah selama beberapa jam. Pamanku tidak dapat

menjelaskan kenapa. Kemudian dia bertanya kepada mereka, namun mereka tetap

diam, kemudian pamanku mengatakannya pada ibuku, kemudian kami

mempraktekkannya dan cara inilah yang membuat makanan tetap renyah.

Kemudian ibuku berkata, hati-hati pada makanan Thailand juga, seperti ikan bilis,

bawang goreng, meskipun kita meletakkan nya pada udara terbuka selama beberapa

jam, makanan tetap renyah (tidak melempem).

Seperti di CANADA, hanya di tempat kami hujan turun selama 5 kali atau kurang dalam

setahun, jadi bila kita meletakkan roti di udara terbuka selama semalam, keesokan

harinya rati itu menjadi sangat renyah atau kering karena lingkungan disini sangat

kering, tetapi di Malaysia, hal itu tidak akan terjadi karena disana kelembaban terlalu

tinggi.

Saya pernah ke dataran tinggi Kamerun dengan keluarga saya, sekitar pukul 3 sore

kami berjalan-jalan disekitar pasar, kami melihat banyak penjaja kios melakukan usaha

mereka, tiba-tiba sesuatu menarik perhartian saya… di salah satu kios, ada sebuah

wajan besar minyak goreng yang didalam nya ada botol plastik kosong (ukuran 5 1/2

liter), botol itu pelan-pelan mencair di minyak goreng yang panas dan saya terkejut.

Saya kira itu suatu kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh anak kecil, tetapi ketika saya melihat

lebih dekat, saya melihat ada beberapa sedotan plastik (chopstick) didalam botol plastik

tersebut, segera meminta keluarga saya untuk datang dan memeriksanya, pada saat itu

orang tua anak kecil tadi datang, mereka memandang kami dengan garang, … mereka

menggunakan cairan plastik untuk menggoreng makanan, alasannya agar makanan

yang digoreng tidak melempem.

Kami mempraktek kannya seperti ini,

Minyak goreng tanpa plastik, makanan agak melempem setelah beberapa lama.

Kemudian ditambahkan plastik, kemudian menggoreng lagi … makanan menjadi

renyah, lebih renyah dari KFC

J.K. Rowling Biography

Joanne Kathleen Rowling was born on July 31, 1965, in Chipping Sodbury, near Bristol, England. A single mother living in Edinburgh, Scotland, Rowling became an international literary sensation in 1999, when the first three installments of her Harry Potter children's book series took over the top three slots of the New York Times best-seller list after achieving similar success in her native United Kingdom. The phenomenal response to Rowling's books culminated in July 2000, when the fourth volume in the series, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, became the fastest-selling book in history.

A graduate of Exeter University, Rowling moved to Portugal in 1990 to teach English. There, she met and married a Portuguese journalist. The couple's daughter, Jessica, was born in 1993. After her marriage ended in divorce, Rowling moved to Edinburgh with her daughter to live near her younger sister, Di. While struggling to support Jessica and herself on welfare, Rowling worked on a book, the idea for which had reportedly occurred to her while she was traveling on a train from Manchester to London in 1990. After a number of rejections, she was finally able to sell the book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (the word "Philosopher" was changed to "Sorcerer" for its publication in America), for the equivalent of about $4,000.

By the summer of 2000, the first three Harry Potter books; Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban had earned approximately $480 million in three years, with over 35 million copies in print in 35 languages. In July 2000, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire saw a first printing of 5.3 million copies and advance orders of over 1.8 million. Rowling, now one of Britain's richest women, plans a total of seven books in the series, each chronicling a year in the life of Harry Potter, a young wizard, and his motley band of cohorts at the Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The fifth installment, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, hit book stores on June 21st, 2003, roughly three years after the fourth book was released.

A film version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, directed by Chris Columbus (Home Alone, Mrs. Doubtfire) was released on November 16th, 2001. In its opening weekend in the U.S., the film debuted on a record 8,200 screens and smashed the previous box office record, earning an estimated $93.5 million ($20 million more than the previous recordholder, 1999's The Lost World: Jurassic Park). It ended the year as the top-grossing movie of 2001. The second film in the series, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, opened on November 15th, 2002 and had the third best opening weekend in box office history.

In late December 2001, Rowling married anesthetist Dr. Neil Murray at the couple's home in Scotland. Her second child and first son, David Gordon Rowling Murray, was born on March 24th, 2003, at the new Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh. To give herself more time to care for her son, Rowling planned less public appearances and book signings for the fifth book. Shortly after announcing that the sixth book in the Harry Potter series was completed, Rowling gave birth to her third child on January 23, 2005, a daughter named Mackenzie Jean Rowling Murray.

The sixth Harry Potter book, entitled Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, was officially released at 12:01 am on July 16th, 2005. To launch the book, Rowling organized an incredibly special event at Edinburgh Castle. She participated in several interviews, mostly with the younger Harry Potter readers. Her longest interview, and by far the most interesting, was conducted with none other than MuggleNet’s creator Emerson Spartz and Melissa Anelli from The Leaky Cauldron. It is widely agreed that the launch parties for the sixth book around the globe were more spectacular than any other Harry Potter book launch.

Right now, J.K. Rowling is in the process of writing Book 7; however, she "still has plenty to write," and neither a title nor a release date for the book has yet to be announced.

For most children, summer vacation is something to look forward to. But not for our 13-year-old hero, who's forced to spend his summers with an aunt, uncle, and cousin who detest him. The third book in J.K. Yet one night a vision harrowing enough to make his lightning-bolt-shaped scar burn has Harry on edge and contacting his godfather-in-hiding, Sirius Black. Happily, the prospect of attending the season's premier sporting event, the Quidditch World Cup, is enough to make Harry momentarily forget that Lord Voldemort and his sinister familiars--the Death Eaters--are out for murder.

Readers, we will cast a giant invisibility cloak over any more plot and reveal only that You-Know-Who is very much after Harry and that this year there will be no Quidditch matches between Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. Instead, Hogwarts will vie with two other magicians' schools, the stylish Beauxbatons and the icy Durmstrang, in a Triwizard Tournament. Those chosen to compete will undergo three supreme tests. But Quidditch buffs need not go into mourning: we get our share of this great game at the World Cup. Attempting to go incognito as Muggles, 100,000 witches and wizards converge on a "nice deserted moor." As ever, Rowling magicks up the details that make her world so vivid, and so comic. Several spectators' tents, for instance, are entirely unquotidian. One is a minipalace, complete with live peacocks; another has three floors and multiple turrets. And the sports paraphernalia on offer includes rosettes "squealing the names of the players" as well as "tiny models of Firebolts that really flew, and collectible figures of famous players, which strolled across the palm of your hand, preening themselves." Needless to say, the two teams are decidedly different, down to their mascots. Bulgaria is supported by the beautiful veela, who instantly enchant everyone--including Ireland's supporters--over to their side. Until, that is, thousands of tiny cheerleaders engage in some pyrotechnics of their own: "The leprechauns had risen into the air again, and this time, they formed a giant hand, which was making a very rude sign indeed at the veela across the field."

Long before her fourth installment appeared, Rowling warned that it would be darker, and it's true that every exhilaration is equaled by a moment that has us fearing for Harry's life, the book's emotions running as deep as its dangers. Along the way, though, she conjures up such new characters as Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody, a Dark Wizard catcher who may or may not be getting paranoid in his old age, and Rita Skeeter, who beetles around Hogwarts in search of stories. And at her bedazzling close, Rowling leaves several plot strands open, awaiting book 5. In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, no one and nothing is safe, including preconceived notions of good and evil and of right and wrong. With each book in her increasingly remarkable series, fans have nervously watched J.K. Rowling raise the stakes; gone are the simple delights of butterbeer and enchanted candy, and days when the worst ailment could be cured by a bite of chocolate. A series that began as a colorful lark full of magic and discovery has become a dark and deadly war zone. But this should not come as a shock to loyal readers. You can fill your beans all the way up to 100 BEANS and then go to Fred And George's Shop, spend them, then come back out and do it all over again!

In the daytime, once you are out and about looking for those items that are missing from the bulletin board (in the 7th floor) common room, you'll get access to the Confiscated Items Storeroom in the middle of the Hogwarts grounds (using your broom) for a 200 bean holster. Once you get the key, fly to the center of the grounds towards a bridge and head towards the door. Open the door and you'll find one of the (five to seven) chests in that room with the 200-bean bag holster. Even after you save, you can still go back to the room and get that bean holster even when you're low. Once you get it, you'll have 200 beans, and you don't even have to walk around finding any more!!!

Menyelesaikan bab terakhir buku ketujuh Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallow menjadi momen yang emosional bagi JK Rowling. “Saya menangis meraung-raung di kamar hotel sendirian. Ini adalah ungkapan kebahagiaan dan kesedihan sekaligus.” Ujar pemilik nama lengkap Joanne Kathleen Rowling ini.
Maklum wanita kelahiran 31 Juli 1965 ini menulis Harry Potter selama lebih dari 17 tahun. “Dimulai sejak saya berusia 25 tahun, dan baru bisa menemukan penerbit setelah 7 tahun berjuang tanpa henti. Tentu saja ada perasaan euforia,” ujar Rowling dalam sebuah wawancara dengan Jonathan Ross di acara televisi BBC.
Rowling, yang kini menjadi salah satu wanita terkaya di dunia ini memang dikenal pelit komentar. Dia tak suka berbicara kepada wartawan.
Namun, menandai akan diterbitkannya episode terakhir Harry Potter, Rowling memutuskan untuk membuka diri. Dia bercerita soal pengalaman dan perasaannya dalam menulis buku yang sudah diterjemahkan lebih dari 60 bahasa, termasuk Yunani kuno, yang terjual 300 juta kopi di seluruh dunia itu.

Potter Kalah di Jenggot
Penggemar Harry Potter harus mengurut dada. Ternyata jagoan mereka bukanlah penyihir terbaik di dunia. Sebuah polling yang digelar di Inggris, tempat kelahiran Potter, ternyata tidak menempatkan anak muda berkacamata bulat itu sebagai penyihir yang terkuat dan terpopuler.
Potter harus mengalah pada penyihir abu-abu, Gandalf, karakter protagonis ciptaan JRR Tolkien. Penyihir yang punya nama lain Mithrandir ini berhasil menarik hati masyarakat Inggris berkat aksi heroiknya dalam saga trilogi Lord of The Rings. Karakter yang diperankan Sir Ian McKellen ini memperoleh 44 persen suara dari 3000 responden.
Berdasarkan polling itu, ternyata jenggot merupakan standar utama untuk menjadi penyihir yang paling populer. Potter memang tidak berjenggot. Karena itu, dia harus merelakan posisi kedua pada mentornya, kepala sekolah Hogwarts, Prof Albus Dumbledore. Karakter yang diperankan Sir Michael Gambon ini meraih suara 17 persen.
Potter sendiri harus puas di posisi ketiga. Dia hanya meraih 9 %. Setelah Potter, penyihir dari Disneyworld, Merlin serta penyihir The Wizard of Oz duduk di posisi keempat dan kelima.
Menurut penyelenggara Kathryn Jacob dari lembaga survei Pearl and Dean, jenggot adalah syarat terpenting untuk menjadi penyihir.

Para penggemar novel Harry Potter dari seluruh pelosok dunia, hari ini sudah dapat mengetahui akhir kisah petualangan penyihir remaja rekaan penulis JK Rowling itu.
Novel berjudul Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows sudah sejak beberapa hari sebelum peluncuran sudah ditunggu-tunggu para pembacanya. Mereka rela mengantre di depan toko-toko buku negara masing-masing agar dapat segera memperoleh novel idaman mereka.
Di Inggris, novel ini resmi dibuka pada tengah malam waktu setempat. Sementara di Asia, pesta semalam suntuk serta parade kereta dengan model Hogwarts Express merupakan beberapa bentuk sambutan dari beragam bentuk sambutan lainnya.
Toko buku di berbagai negara sudah memulai perang harga. Di Malaysia, beberapa toko menawarkan novel itu hingga seharga USD 21. Padahal di Inggris, harga persampul hanya mencapai USD 10.
Namin sayangnya, di tengah gegap gempita penyambutan novel pamungkas JK Rowling itu, tersiar kabar yang mengurangi gereget peluncuran perdana novel Harry Potter. Pasalnya, beberapa harian, seperti The New York Times, telah menerbitkan ulasan isi novel tersebut.
